RadioIndy is pleased to present Infinite Tone with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Impossi-bull"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Infinite Tone with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Impossi-bull"

With their debut release of "Impossi-bull," rock band Infinite Tone has compiled a collection of powerhouse rock songs. Reminiscent of '80's head-banger music, Infinite Tone centers their sound around big guitars and melodic vocals. The lyrics are well-written and are sung with confident and crisp vocals. The keyboards also play an immense part in this group's sound. Take note of the Hammond B-3 organ sound on the solo of "Burn!" or the chord stabs on the title track "Impossi-bull." Listeners will be able to notice the diversity in the tempos in "Picture of You" and "In My Eyes," which are slow rock ballads driven by power chords on guitar. If you're a fan of Guns N' Roses or AC/DC you will thoroughly enjoy listening to the edgy hard rock tunes on the Infinite Tones' album "Impossi-bull."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Martin Hagfors with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Men and Flies"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Martin Hagfors with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Men and Flies"

"Men and Flies" Martin Hagfors latest effort, is Indie songwriting at its finest. Hagfors does a fantastic job with this record both in his eloquent lyrics and in the choice instrumentation on every song. The first track off the album, "Appetite" features a beautiful staccato string arrangement and a vocal approach similar to the Indie master himself, Elliot Smith. Another great selection on "Men and Flies" is the song "Tattooed on My Eyes." This song has that element of fusing both old and new rock sounds with an end result of something between The Band and Ryan Adams. Hagfors really does an outstanding job on this CD and is a real hidden gem amongst his musical peers.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Tom Hood and The Trailmen with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Dust In Your Hands"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Tom Hood and The Trailmen with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Dust In Your Hands"

If you have been craving some country rooted rock these days then "Dust In Your Hands" by Tom Hood and The Trailmen might be right up your alley. Their lineup of songs sets them apart from most rock acts with the addition of fiddle and mandolin both of which are well blended in the mix. Hood takes on the song "Caught In The Rain" with a very inspired Johnny Cash influence making for a great crossover tune. One of the standout tracks is "Back To The Baja" which features some nice lead guitar work and a bouncy groove that could be heard on any Jimmy Buffett or Traveling Wilburys album. Don't expect any classic style cowboy tunes on "Dust In Your Hands" because it's sheer rock/country entertainment.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Roymackonkey with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Cassandra Never Lies"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Roymackonkey with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Cassandra Never Lies"

Aussie band Roymackonkey delivers solid, '90s era rock with their newest effort "Cassandra Never Lies." After spending the summer touring the "land down under" with Wolfmother, it seems like this band is ready to spread their sound overseas and beyond. Their sound is sort of dated, but in a good way that reminds listeners of bands like Gin Blossoms or Nirvana. "The Fear" evokes that early '90s feel more than any other song on this album and has a nice R.E.M quality to it. The groove of "Chain Letter" is very solid and has that 'hit single' vibe to it. If you are looking to reminisce with the Seattle sound you used to love but want something fresh, as opposed to hunting down your old Soundgarden albums, then definitely take a listen to Roymackonkey's "Cassandra Never Lies."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jeffrey Harrison with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Venus Sessions"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jeffrey Harrison with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Venus Sessions"

Jeffrey Harrison's latest release "Venus Sessions" is loaded with impressive contemporary rock music. Harrison sings up a storm with his melodic vocals and memorable lyrics. The album's production is high-quality, as instruments are well-mixed with a cohesive sound. The harmonies on "Gwendolyn" add to the rhythmical lyrics of this delightful melody. The upbeat and energetic "Venus of Astoria" is embedded with great power chords and a chorus that's sure to have listeners sing along. A slow rock ballad, "Down From the Moon" is a distinctive little treasure of artistic creativity as the ambient tone showcases Harrison's versatility in playing softer styles of music. Listeners who are fans of Tom Petty or Neil Young won't be disappointed when listening to Jeffrey Harrison's "Venus Sessions."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Copper Vein Records with a GrIndie Award for the CD "No. 3"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Copper Vein Records with a GrIndie Award for the CD "No. 3"

Copper Vein Record's recent compilation, "No. 3', is an outstanding mix of what the label has to offer. The album is filled with the sounds of new and old and tracks of eclectic styles, including a number of tracks based around acoustic country rock. "Bloom on the Sage" by Mike LaBeau, is one of our favorite songs on the album and hits you with that Rolling Stones (a la 1964) tone. LaBeau's vocals are just as gritty and memorable as Mick Jagger's ever were. For that country feel, look no further than "Dizzy Melissa" by Keith Rintala. His songwriting and instrumentation stands out on this featured number and makes us want to hear more from this artist. Another highlight track is Music Sunday, featuring the powerful voice of Rachael Davis. "No. 3" is great for anyone who loves a CD with a refreshing variety of sounds that feature talented artists from Michigan.
