"Cat 3 Be Happy" by Cat (Rock Artist from San Francisco, California(CA))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Cat with a GrIndie Award for their CD "Cat 3 Be Happy"

"Cat 3 Be Happy" by Cat is a power pop album heavily influenced by Americana. This album is set out to rock you and it succeeds. Cat's excellent modern rock voice gently screams in front of a strong group of musicians with a big raw sound. Along with the big sound comes innovative and modern production as well. The album is an effective mix of sounds that seems almost endless: rock, country, industrial, and Middle Eastern to name a few. Highlights are "God," with a wailing guitar riff, nice harmonies in the verses and a powerful chorus. "Post Trauma" has a fun country vibe, a nice melody and and strong vocal performance. "Creep" mellows things out with a haunting piano progression. If you enjoy the Pretenders, give this outstanding CD a listen.

“The Devils in the Joneses” by The Joshua Cain Band (Rock Artist from Washington(WA))

RadioIndy is pleased to present The Joshua Cain Band with a GrIndie Award for their CD "The Devils in the Joneses"

Joshua Cain's "The Devils in the Joneses" is an excellent CD with a nice mix of rock and spiritual songs. The CD is high quality in terms of musicianship and recording production. The extremely accomplished guitar work is especially noteworthy, as are the outstanding vocals. The CD nicely changes up styles, with both spiritual as well as working-man rock and roll tracks. The title track is reminiscent of an old black spiritual song in tempo and lyrics. The strong solo vocal presentation as well as the background singers of each of the tracks is very professional, with clear and articulate lyrics and excellent pitch. The spiritual and yet very modern presentation of the lyrics on "Here and Now" is inspiring. "Exodus" is a spiritual adult rock song with an excellent vocal contrast of lead male vocals and backing female gospel vocals. The CD also includes a couple of well-know cover songs from the 60's. The CD is an excellent addition to any collection from a listener who enjoys spiritual rock and roll.

Live Form Rehab" by DubSound Distortion (Rock Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

RadioIndy is pleased to present DubSound Distortion with a GrIndie Award for their CD "Live Form Rehab"

"Live Form Rehab" by DubSound Distortion is high-energy funk/rock with lyrics dealing with the fight against inner demons. The overall sound is a nice mix of classic blues rock and a George Clinton style funk. The arrangements are lively and very raw. The rhythm section is tight. The guitar work is original and the lyrics are delivered with a vengance. Highlights include "Pigs Got Guns," which is funked to the max with a crazy beat, wicked bass line, wailing wah guitar and a powerful vocal performance. "Jack Daniels" takes you down south a bit with a killer blues riff. "Snow" wraps it up nicely with another crazy funk jam. If you like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, give this CD a listen.

"A Thought" by Bob and the Fritsch (Rock Artist from Florida)

RadioIndy is pleased to present Bob and the Fritsch with a GrIndie award for their CD "A Thought"

"A Thought" by Bob and the Fritsch is a twistedly eclectic collection of songs that are a reflection of a journey through one man's mind - Bob's mind, that is. The sound is experimental and is influenced by 60's Brit rock and surf music. Your ears will stand at attention while listening to this album. It is unpredictable and creative while retaining a classic sound. Highlights include the title track, "A Thought". Bob's throaty spoken word vocals mixed with beautiful surf progressions combine to produce a winner. "Duality" has a nice bouncy rhythm mixed with unassuming guitar tracks. "Microscopic Dot" features a beautifully played acoustic guitar progression and gets intimate with Bob's voice. If you like Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen, give this album a try.

"The Mask" by Ebbandflow (Rock Artist from Spain)

RadioIndy is pleased to present Ebbandflow with a GrIndie Award for their CD "The Mask"

"The Mask" by Ebbandflow is an experimental progressive rock album brought to you by eight fine musicians. This album is an array of sounds presented in an array of styles. There is a strong Middle Eastern influence present throughout the album, but you could say it is jazzy, ambient rock for the most part. The arrangements are lively, well-layered and complete, with great musicianship. One standout track is "Through all This Rain". It opens with some soothing sax and explodes into a big rock number. "I Need You" exhibits the greatest eastern influence, with nice tabla and devious guitar work. "The Mask Part 3" is ambient and airy and features a strong vocal performance. If you like Pink Floyd or Dead Can Dance, you will like this one.
